Court Outcomes

Court Outcomes is a LEAP Criminal Law application available through the LEAP Marketplace. It allows you to record, manage, and edit court outcomes directly from within a matter, helping you keep an accurate, up-to-date record of proceedings without leaving LEAP.

Once enabled, the application opens directly from the matter task bar, giving you fast access to create new outcomes or update existing ones as hearings progress.

Enabling Court Outcomes

 

Before you can use Court Outcomes, it must be enabled through the LEAP Marketplace. You only need to do this once.

  1. Open LEAP and navigate to Menu > Marketplace.

    The LEAP Marketplace will open in a new window.

  2. Search for Court Outcomes in the Marketplace search bar.

  3. Select the Court Outcomes application from the results.

  4. Click Enable to activate the app for your firm.

Once enabled, Court Outcomes will appear in the task bar of all relevant Criminal Law and Traffic Law matters. Each user who requires access will need to enable the application.

Opening Court Outcomes

 

Court Outcomes opens directly from the matter task bar—no need to navigate away from your matter.

  1. Open the relevant matter in LEAP.

  2. Locate the Court Outcomes icon in the matter task bar.

  3. Click the icon to open the Court Outcomes window.

Creating a New Court Outcome

 

You can record a new court outcome at any stage of proceedings.

  1. Open Court Outcomes from the matter task bar.

  2. Click the New Outcome button.

  3. Complete the required fields, including the hearing date, court, listing type, and any additional notes.

  4. Click Save to record the outcome against the matter.

You can create multiple outcomes against a single matter as hearings progress—for example, recording separate outcomes for a mention, plea hearing, and sentencing.

Editing an Existing Court Outcome

 

If a court outcome needs to be updated—for example, if a date has changed or additional details need to be recorded—you can edit it at any time.

  1. Open Court Outcomes from the matter task bar.

  2. Click the outcome you wish to update from the list of recorded outcomes.

  3. Click the Edit button.

  4. Update the relevant fields as required.

  5. Click Save to apply your changes.

Selecting Cancel will discard any unsaved changes. Make sure to click Save before closing the panel.
