This sends your question/s to one of our ‘lawyers-in-the-loop’, also known as our Verifiers. They are the experienced practitioners who review your question and amend the AI-answer where necessary to improve accuracy. This process usually takes between 1-3 business days, depending on the area of law and the complexity of the question.
Once verification is complete, the Verifier will make your question as ‘Verified’ and you will receive a notification in LEAP.

- How can I submit a question for verification in LawY?
To submit questions in LawY for verification:

- Enter your legal question into LawY and select Ask.
- Select Deep Research + Human Verification.
- LawY will extract a list of substantive legal questions from your conversation.
- Select the questions you want to explore further, or add additional questions.
- Select Lawyer verification from the available research options.
- Select Next to submit your question for research and verification.
- Once the verification is complete, you will receive a notification through the notification bell in LEAP. You can also review the status and completed verified answer from the Verification tab on the left-hand side menu.

- What can I submit for verification in LawY?
You can submit any Deep Research AI-answers for verification. This means that instant AI-answers are not eligible for verification.
Deep Research answers are designed for substantive legal queries where such in-depth input adds real weight and confidence to your legal research.
Furthermore, verification is not available on templates (e.g. affidavits or letters) or case summaries for a number of reasons. In the case of templates, this is because these materials often require a nuanced understanding of the specific facts—an area where only the practising lawyer can make accurate assessments.
For case summaries, when a URL is provided, LawY generates summaries based on the primary source itself, allowing you to dive deeper through the chat interface. When a single case is requested, LawY uses a previously verified source link to maximise accuracy from the outset.
- What if my substantive legal question is not appearing in the list?
Before submitting a question for Deep Research or verification, you can edit or reword the questions generated by LawY.
If a question is missing or you would like to change the wording:

- Select the question you want to change.
- Edit or reword the question as required. You can phrase it in any way that best reflects what you want LawY to research.
- Select the questions you want to submit for Deep Research or verification, then continue with the submission process.
You can refine the wording of your questions before submitting them to ensure the research focuses on the specific legal issue you want to explore.
