Troubleshooting

Disconnecting and Reconnecting QuickBooks Online from LEAP

In some troubleshooting scenarios, LEAP Support may ask you to disconnect the QuickBooks Online integration and reconnect it. This refreshes the link between the two systems and can resolve issues such as transactions failing to sync or authorisation errors. Disconnecting does not delete any data in LEAP or QuickBooks Online.

Before you begin

You’ll need the sign-in details for the QuickBooks user login account for who has been setup as the Primary Admin or Company Admin on the QuickBooks dataset.

Part 1: Disconnect LEAP from QuickBooks Online

Sign in to QuickBooks Online.
In the top right-hand corner, click the Apps icon (the grid of nine dots). The My apps panel opens and lists LEAP as a connected app.
Click Go to apps overview.
On the Apps page, locate LEAP under My apps and click the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right-hand side.
Click Disconnect.
If QuickBooks asks you to confirm or provide a reason for disconnecting, complete the prompt and confirm.
LEAP is now disconnected from QuickBooks Online. In LEAP, the General Ledger module will show a red DISCONNECTED status.

If you use QuickBooks Online Accountant, the Apps page is under Your Practice > Apps and connected apps appear on the Firm apps tab.

Part 2: Reconnect LEAP to QuickBooks Online

In LEAP, open the General Ledger
In the bottom right-hand corner, click SYNC NOW. A QuickBooks Online window opens.
If prompted, sign in with the Intuit account for your QuickBooks Online company and click Continue. If you are already signed in to Intuit in your browser, you’ll skip straight to the next step.
On the Please select your company screen, choose the QuickBooks Online company that was previously linked to LEAP from the drop-down list, then click Next.
If Intuit asks you to authorise LEAP to access your company, click Connect.
Back in LEAP, the status badge changes from DISCONNECTED to CONNECTED. Click SYNC NOW to run a sync and confirm the connection is working.

LEAP is now reconnected to QuickBooks Online. If the status still shows as disconnected or the sync fails, contact LEAP Support.
