The LEAP Generator app simplifies the document creation process using LawY's trusted legal AI assistant within LEAP to provide you with a more efficient and quicker way to generate documents. The app will allow you to perform a smart search to locate and help you generate documents from sources such as:

  • LawY generated responses
  • LawY generated responses verified by experienced lawyers
  • Previous correspondence and firm correspondence
  • LEAP precedents including custom precedents
  • By Lawyers precedents 

How to Access

 

To access the Generator:

  1. Open a matter.

  2. Make sure you're on the Details & Correspondence tab.

  3. Click Forms & Precedents.

  4. Click the Generator tab.

Searching with LEAP Generator

 

Select a suggestion or type the precedent you’re looking for or the document you would like to draft.

The results will appear on the left pane of the window. The Generator will search across multiple sources of information, to find and generate tailored results for you, including:

  • Your firm's LEAP precedents including custom precedents
  • By Lawyers and LEAP Forms
  • LawY generated answers
  • LawY generated answers verified by experienced lawyers
  • Documents and correspondence across your current and even archived LEAP matters

Click on any of the search results to preview its content within the preview pane on the right.

LawY AI generated responses will automatically populate with information from the matter.

If a LawY response is selected, an AI-generated response will be generated.

 

Some LawY responses will feature a   button next to it. This indicates that the specific template has been previously generated within your firm and has been verified by an experienced lawyer. 

Accuracy Enhancement: LawY Generated

 

To enhance the accuracy and relevance of LawY’s generated responses, the Generator app can now incorporate context from the specific matter. You will have the option to provide this context upon first accessing the feature.

When accessing this feature for the first time, users will be prompted to choose whether to include context from the matter, which may involve personal information of the parties involved. Users can update this setting at any time via the settings cog in the top right corner.

To manage your preferences, please refer to the Settings button.

Filtering LEAP Generator Search Results

 

You can filter the Generator results based on Matter Type or State using the dropdown filters. You may also resize the window by clicking and dragging the centre column.

Search Result Relevancy Controls for LawY

Additional filters can be found by clicking Generator results relevancy.png in the right corner.

  • LawY Verified Templates
  • Correspondence
  • Precedents/Custom Precedents
  • Online Forms

To fine-tune your search results, use the result relevancy sliders to adjust from Broad (more results) to Exact (fewer results).

Your result relevancy setting is automatically applied to all future LEAP Generator searches.

Generate a Word Document

 

Once you’ve decided on a template, click Create to select your preferred document type and the recipient. This will open a Microsoft Word document with the selected document type. Alternatively, click the small arrow next to the Create button to select whether you would like to generate a document or an email.

  • Microsoft Word will open and insert your selected template into a new Word document.
  • Placeholder values can be updated with your matter details.
  • Click Save to save the new Word document to your current LEAP matter.

Generate an Email (LawY Only)

Generating emails are only available for LawY responses.

Once a LawY response is selected, click the arrow next to Create and select Email.

  • Microsoft Outlook will open and insert your selected template into a new email.
  • Placeholder values can be updated with your matter details.
  • The LEAP Generator will use AI to provide a more dynamic and relevant email subject. Email subjects will be more meaningful and contextually appropriate.

Upload/View Precedents

 

You are able to upload precedents to LEAP for use with Generator.

Firm Precedents

 

When you click on the Generator cog wheel icon.png icon in the right corner of the window, there are 2 options for firm precedents: Upload and View.

  • Clicking Upload - opens a window to select a folder on your computer containing non-LEAP precedents for upload to use in LEAP with the LEAP Generator.
  • Clicking View - opens a location in the Browse tab where your non-LEAP precedents are stored in LEAP.

Precedents uploaded via Firm Precedents will be accessible firm-wide. 

Old Precedents

 

When you click on the Generator cog wheel icon.png icon in the right corner of the window, there are 2 options for old precedents: Upload and View.

  • Clicking Upload - opens a window to select a folder on your computer containing old, non-LEAP precedents for upload to use in LEAP with the LEAP Generator.
  • Clicking View - opens a location in the Browse tab where your old, non-LEAP precedents are stored in LEAP.

Precedents uploaded via Old Precedents are only visible to the user who uploaded them.

Using Online Forms

 

Online Forms in the Generator app allows you to quickly generate official legal documents by automatically populating them with information already available from your LEAP matter.

Online Forms are publicly available PDFs or document forms such as those from government or legal websites and can now been accessed directly from within the Generator app. 

From the LEAP Generator Search Results, you can find these under From online forms.

Click on an online form to view it in the preview pane on the right. Any information entered in the Matter Details will be pre-populated in the form if relevant. To generate the form, click the Create button.
