AI Paralegal is only available to firms that have signed up for it. If you would like to see a demo, please send us a demo request.

Generating a Disclosure Schedule

AI Paralegal can prepare a disclosure schedule from the documents in your matter. Choose which party's documents to include and find the finished schedule.

A disclosure schedule lists every disclosed document in the matter, named, indexed, grouped by type and in chronological order. Your AI Paralegal prepares it in your firm's template from the documents it has already processed, so the schedule reflects the current state of the matter at the time you request it. The schedule includes a disclosure date column, which is populated when you share your client’s disclosure documents with the other party through your AI Paralegal.

Before You Start

Your AI Paralegal builds the schedule from documents that have been sent to it and processed. Make sure any documents you want listed have been sent first. See Sending Documents to Your AI Paralegal for more information.

Request a Disclosure Schedule

Open your matter and make sure you're on the Details & Correspondence tab.
Click AI Paralegal in the LEAP matter ribbon.
On the Assign work screen, click Disclosure Schedule.
Choose whose documents to include:
- Both Parties
- Our Client
- The Other Party
Click Request Disclosure Schedule.

Your AI Paralegal generates the schedule automatically. No further input is needed.

Find the Finished Schedule

When the schedule is ready, it will be available in two locations:

The Review work tab of the AI Paralegal app, where you can review it.
The Disclosure Schedule is saved as a Word document in the matter correspondence in LEAP, in the Documents prepared by your AI Paralegal folder, dated the day it was generated.

Click to edit heading

If further disclosure arrives, send the new documents to your AI Paralegal and request a fresh schedule. The new documents are re-indexed into the existing structure and the new schedule reflects everything now in the matter.

FAQs

Can I edit the schedule?

Yes. It is a standard Word document in your correspondence list and can be edited like any other document. Edits are not carried over to future schedules, so if you want a change made permanently, simply update the document or contact our team. They can make the change for you and work with you to set your firm's preferences for naming, filing and document layout so every future schedule is produced the way your firm wants it.

What appears in the disclosure date column?

The date your client’s documents were shared with the other party through your AI Paralegal. Documents that have not yet been shared this way will not have a disclosure date. Share them through your AI Paralegal and the date is recorded on the next schedule you generate.

Why is a document missing from the schedule?

The document has not been sent to your AI Paralegal, or was sent in an unsupported format. Send it and request a new schedule.

Can I generate a schedule for one party only?

Yes. Choose Our Client or the Other Party when requesting the schedule.

Preparing a Balance Sheet

Before You Start

The balance sheet is built from the documents your AI Paralegal has processed. Make sure the disclosure for both the applicant and the respondent has been uploaded before you request it. See Sending Documents to Your AI Paralegal.

Choose a Format

Your AI Paralegal can prepare the balance sheet as any of the following:

Balance Sheet +: the interactive balance sheet inside LEAP, integrated with your AI Paralegal.
Excel spreadsheet: a workbook you can adjust and use to create split options, have your AI Paralegal type up proposals in Word and the Application for Consent Orders.
Court Balance Sheet (Word).

Request a Balance Sheet

Open the matter and click AI Paralegal in the matter ribbon.
Click Assign work.
Click Balance sheet. The Balance sheet screen opens.
Choose Balance Sheet + (LEAP app), Excel spreadsheet or Court Balance Sheet (Word).
For the Court Balance Sheet, under As applicant or respondent, choose whether your client is the applicant or the respondent.
Click Request balance sheet.

Find the Finished Balance Sheet

The Excel and Word balance sheets are saved in the matter correspondence in LEAP, in the Documents prepared by your AI Paralegal folder, named Balance Sheet with the date and time they were prepared.

The Excel balance sheet sets out the assets, liabilities and superannuation, which party owns each item and its value, with the rationale for every figure in the Notes column. Any value highlighted in yellow is more than three months old, so you may want to obtain more recent documents and refresh it.

Next Steps

From the Excel balance sheet you can create split options for the division of the property pool, have your AI Paralegal generate a proposal, and prepare Parts H and I of the Application for Consent Orders.
