AI Paralegal is only available to firms that have signed up for it. If you would like to see a demo, please send us a demo request.

Before You Start

Open the matter.
Click AI Paralegal in the matter ribbon.
Click Review work.
Open the task you want changed: the naming and filing task, the disclosure schedule, the balance sheet or a disclosure sourcing task.

Click to edit heading

The Human paralegal button will also appear in the review work page shown after the completion of a task.

Send Written Instructions

On the Review work screen for the task, click Human paralegal to open the panel.
Type your instructions, describing the change you want and the item or document it applies to.
Click Send.

Record Your Screen

In the Human paralegal panel, click the record button.
Talk through the change as you would with someone in your own office, pointing to the items or documents on screen.
Stop the recording and click Send.

A screen recording is often the quickest way to explain a change that involves several items or is hard to describe in writing.

Attach Files

If a change depends on a document the team does not yet have, for example an updated statement or a valuation, attach it to your request from the Human paralegal panel before you send.

The team uploads it to the matter as part of making the change.

What Happens Next

The team reviews your request and makes the changes.
Changes flow through to the balance sheet, disclosure schedule and filing from there.
If anything is unclear, the team replies with questions, and you are notified when the work is done.
Requests are actioned as quickly as the team can, within business hours.

Reviewing Your AI Paralegal's Work

Tasks your AI Paralegal completes appear in Review Work in the matter, grouped as:

in progress;
needing your input;
or completed.

Tasks appear as soon as they start and you are able to leave the screen while they run in the background.

Each task displays the work along with notes from your AI Paralegal, explaining what was done and why.

What Each Task Shows

Task	What you see
Naming and filing	The documents, indexed by category such as Income, Bank accounts, Vehicles and Businesses, and the balance sheet items created or updated from them. Items added for the first time are labelled New item; existing items are marked as updated. The notes give the rationale for each item (why it was added, how its value was set and how ownership was determined) and the source documents it rests on, plus a description of each document filed.
Balance sheet	A preview of the balance sheet with totals for assets, liabilities, superannuation and net assets and the split by owner. Each value links to its source documents, and values with no source document or no value set are flagged. In the Excel version, values more than three months old are highlighted.
Disclosure schedule	A preview of the schedule grouped by category, with notes confirming how many of your client's documents it covers and that it has been filed in LEAP.
Disclosure sourcing	The stage reached, activity to date, reminders sent to your client and who the task is waiting on. Once complete, the financial disclosure plan, signed authority and conversation transcript. Items and documents gathered are reviewed on the Documents screen. The same view is used for updated disclosure sourcing.
