Client Accounts Ledger Report

Location: LEAP Menu > Accounting > Reports > Client Funds > Client Accounts Ledger

Purpose: Downloads Client Accounts ledgers for a selected Client Account bank account across all matters.

Select a Client Accounts bank account and choose to generate ledgers based on either a reporting period or a cutoff date. Click View to display a matter list, then select the matters and download their Client Accounts ledgers. 

Filters:

Matters
  • With balances only: Displays only matters that currently have Client Funds balances.
    Note: This option uses the 'At Date' as the cutoff date.
  • With transactions within reporting period: Displays matters with Client Accounts transactions recorded during the specified reporting period.
    Note: This option adopts the reporting period starting at the 'Transactions From' date and ending at the 'At Date'.
Transactions From

Choose the start date for displaying Client Accounts ledger transactions when when the Matters setting is With transactions within reporting period. 

NOTE: This filter is NOT available when the Matters setting is With balances only.

At DateSpecify the cutoff date on which you want to run the report.
Bank AccountSelect the bank account from which you want to view Client Accounts ledger details.
For 

Generate the ledger for one of the following parties: 

  • All Clients:
    With this option, the downloaded ledger for a matter will contain a separate ledger statement for each client. If multiple clients are associated with the matter, individual statements are included and addressed to each client.
  • Debtors Only:
    With this option, the downloaded ledger will contain a single statement for debtors only. 

Ledger List:

Review the list and select ledgers for download.

Matter No.The matter number.
Matter TypeThe type of matter.
Client NameClient's full name.
ResponsibleThe Person Responsible for the matter.
Acting The Person Acting for the matter.
Status The current status of the matter.

Client Accounts Ledger: 

Header

Header includes:

  • Bank Information: Institution, Account Name and Sort Code.
  • Matter Information: Matter Number and Matter Description.
  • Client Details: Client Name and Address.
  • Reporting Period: Determined by the Matters setting (i.e., run ledgers based on either a reporting period or a cutoff date) 
    • From / To Dates: The date range for which transactions are displayed in the ledger, or 
    • As At: The cutoff date for which transactions are displayed in the ledger. 
  • Staff Responsible: The Person Responsible on the matter.
DateThe Transaction Date associated with each transaction (or the Entry Date, if indicated with an asterisk).
Transaction No. The reference number for each transaction.
DescriptionA short note explaining the nature or purpose of the transaction, based on the transaction window. 
WithdrawalThe amount withdrawn from the Client Account for that transaction.
DepositThe amount deposited into the Client Account  for that transaction.
BalanceThe running balance of the Client Account  after each transaction.
